At Yale University, a drug called Xeljanz, used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, caused all the hair of a patient who had lost all their hair to grow back completely. This news was published on July 22 and caused a sensation. However, this drug may only be effective in certain types of autoimmune hair loss. It cannot be used in male pattern or genetic hair loss. The patient in question had been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis since the age of 2, and by the time they reached 18, all their hair had fallen out. Now, efforts are underway to develop a foam form of this drug.
